Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions.  Two (2) copies of  applications should be submitted in writing together with an updated curriculum vitae giving details of applicant's age, marital status, academic and professional qualifications, working experience, present post and salary, telephone contact, names and addresses of three referees plus copies of certificates and testimonials. The reference number of the position applied for should be clearly indicated.

REGISTRAR (ADMINISTRATION) - SCALE 15 (1 POSITION) – MU/ADM/2/1/2016

Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail organizing, controlling administrative, financial and academic functions of the University.  In addition an officer at this level will be responsible for the maintenance of high administrative/academic standards in the University.

Job Specification:

To be appointed to this position, one must:

1.    Have earned PhD or served as a Deputy Registrar or equivalent position for a period of 10 years in a large organization.
2.    Thorough knowledge of the University Act, Statutes and other regulations related to academic administrative and financial matters of the University.
3.    Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
4.    Should be able to demonstrate evidence of administrative leadership
5.    Be familiar with the formulation and provision of guidelines on planning, management of University services and academic programmes
6.    Be able to work closely with the Deans and Directors and Moi University Management Board on matter of staff development, training, academic and research programmes
7.    Be able to supervise and oversee the provision of academic and other allied services
8.    An In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Performance contracting, Academic policies and Procedures etc.
9.    Meet the provisions of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya by providing current relevant certificates and or /clearance from the following bodies;

    Kenya Revenue Authority
    Higher Education Loans Board
    Criminal Investigations Department
    Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
    Credit Reference Bureau
    Other relevant Body

10.  Be a member of a Professional body.
