Moi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac S. Kosgey on Thursday, 20th February, 2020, presided over the swearing-in-ceremony of the newly elected Moi University Student Organization officials. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Student Centre, Main campus.
The oath of office was administered by Moi University Senior Legal Officer Ms. Petrolina Chepkwony in the presence of the Vice Chancellor. Thirty College Representatives and seven members of Student Council were sworn in.
Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor underscored the importance of student leadership and promised to closely work together with the student leaders in the pursuit of making Moi a world class university. “Student leaders are the bridge between the University management and the students. I am committed to support this student body to ensure their aspirations are realized.” He said
He urged the new student leaders to embrace servant-leadership and uphold integrity, competence and transparency while discharging the mandate bestowed upon them.

On his part, Prof. Ogechi exhorted the new leaders to exhaust all the channels of communication to amicably solve critical issues pertaining to students and shun brinkmanship politics that sunk for former Student Governing Council.
